May 2026 Fleet Race Committee Report

Sunday, May 10th brought us perfectly clear skies! This time, Chizu-san and I (Kotaro) were in charge of the race committee. Since I am still a bit inexperienced, Ta-san kindly stepped in to support our operations.

We had three boats entered today. Across all four races, the wind direction remained stable at around 130°, and the wind speed was a mild 2 to 3 m/s, making for very calm conditions.

During the races, all three boats demonstrated textbook sailing by accurately reading the tidal currents. It made for an exciting spectacle, with positions changing multiple times within a single race. Even amidst this fierce competition, Tsutsumi-san maintained a steady performance and emerged as this month's winner. Congratulations!

I just recently got my boat license, but thanks to Ta-san's careful instruction, I feel like I am almost ready to run the committee solo. It was a day where I truly realized both the challenges and the joy of managing the races.

With temperatures steadily rising, the best season for sailing is finally here. We are looking forward to seeing lots of entries next month!
